Keep up with Cybersecurity/IT news and Projects
Join me (HexSecLab/Daniel Yalowitz) on my Cybersecurity/IT journey. This website will serve as a professional portfolio as well as a hub for me to post cybersecurity/IT projects and news. You can also find me on LinkedIn, Mastadon, BlueSky, Twitter. I am also building a Medium blog (THM and HTB writeups, cybersecurity news writeups) and will be using Github (for more scripting and coding projects).

My Journey
Where hobby and curiosity turn into career goals...
I grew up using computers starting in the mid 90s. I always had a desire to push the limits of what could and should be done not just with technology but with every aspect of life. While most of my childhood, teenage, and young adult life was centered around athletics and music; breaking and fixing computers and electronics was always a hobby. Programming (which I'm not very good) was an interest. After spending my 20s chasing various entrepreneurial passions, I decided to return to college to seek a formal education in Information Technology and Cybersecurity so that I could have a career in the industry. I started seeking internships and entry-level positions that would give me the opportunity to learn how to truly perform as an IT/Cybersecurity professional. I earned certifications, started working through TryHackMe and HackTheBox learning pathways.

Until recently I never considered recording my journey, but after doing some research and seeing several other professionals in the industry do similar things I decided to give it a shot. I have no desire to be an influencer.
My goal for this platform is for this to be a professional portfolio for me where I can post various projects, blog posts, lab writeups, etc.
